The Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Reinforced Intellectual Property Cooperation

(Seoul, Republic of Korea): On the afternoon of Thursday, 16 May 2024, Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce and Chairperson of the National Committee for Intellectual Property, attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on 6 Documents in the auspicious presence of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency YOON Suk Yeol, President of the Republic of Korea.

On that occasion, her excellency minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Reinforced Intellectual Property Cooperation with the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). This MoU will promote cooperation in key areas such as: (1). the exchange of information on IP-related legislation and any changes or improvements to it; (2). Organization and provision of IP education and training; (3). IP automation system; (4). Trademark Cooperation; (5). Making use of joint events to support the implementation of multilateral cooperation frameworks in the field of trademarks under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP); and (6). IP protection and enforcement.
