Workshop on “Integrating the Trade Sector into the Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I”

(Banteay Meanchey): On the morning of Tuesday, 27 February 2024, His Excellency TAT Puthsodary, Secretary of State of Commerce, High Representative of Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the Workshop on “Integrating the Trade Sector into the Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I”, organized by Trade Training and Research Institute (TTRI), with about 75 participants from relevant provincial departments, Banteay Meanchey Chamber of Commerce, Youngs Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia, Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Association, and students from various universities.

The workshop aims at:

(1) identifying the gaps between Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I, Sub-Decree No. 38 on the Organization and Functioning of Ministry of Commerce, and Prakas No. 0239 on the Organization and Functioning of Municipal/Provincial Department of Commerce, in the trade sector;

(2) matching the alignment and coherence of the Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I with Ministry of Commerce’s policies, strategies, and other relevant documents;

(3) identifying guiding principles for a Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I strategy tracker; identifying key indicators of Pentagon Strategy Phase I in terms of trade development; and

(4) building capacity and raising awareness and of Pentagonal-Strategy Phase I at provincial departments.
