Private Sector Development

The training program will highlight the current state of the private sector in Cambodia, as well as national, regional and international initiatives aimed at its development. Where possible, examples from Cambodia and ASEAN will be used to highlight the issues and policies being presented in this course. Real world examples and case studies and will encourage participants to think critically about the policy decisions that affect the private sectors development.

Objectives:

  • Raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities as perceived by the private sector
  • Promote best practices and policy interventions that encourage private sector development
  • Understand the barriers preventing private sector development and FDI
  • Highlight the need for coordinated policies at the local, national, regional and international levels

Outcomes:

Following the completion of the workshop, participants are able to possess an understanding of:

  • Corporate governance and social responsibility
  • Current state of the private sector in the Asia-Pacific and Cambodia specifically
  • Opportunities for market expansion and diversification
  • Current policies and frameworks in place
